Medium for Komagataeibacter intermedius DSM 11804

This strain uses the standard medium without modifications.

Growth conditions: 30 °C
Equipment needed: Autoclave Filter
Compound Amount Unit Conc. [g/L] Conc. [mM]
Glucose 5 g 5 27.753
Yeast extract 3 g 3 -
Peptone 4 g 4 -
Absolute ethanol 30 ml - -
Glacial acetic acid 30 ml - -
Agar 9 g 9 26.759
Distilled water 940 ml - -
1 Both liquid and solid media are prepared by autoclaving the medium without the addition of glacial acetic acid and absolute ethanol. Glacial acetic acid and absolute ethanol are sterilised either by filtration (use Teflon filters) or they may be autoclaved in completely closed screw cap glass bottles sealed with a Teflon coated septum. A double layer system das not appear to be essential for the growth of this organism, however, plates should be incubated in sealed containers to keep the humidity high (> 90%).
