Strain modifications for Medium 461

(add 1.23 g/l nicotinic acid before autoclaving)

add 10 mM 2-furoic acid before autoclaving

after autoclaving, add 1 g/l 3-chlorobenzoate from a 10-fold concentrated filter-sterilized solution

Plus 5 ml/l 2-chloroethanol or chloroacetate, aerobic, or anaerobic plus 1 g/l KNO₃

Plus 2.5 g/l Na-pyruvate and 1 g/l Na-nitrate, vitamins not necessary.; anaerobic. Reactivate freeze-dried cells from ampoules under anaerobic conditions with pyruvate

Supplemented with 1 g/l 3-furoic acid (furan-3-carboxylic acid)

Supplied with 40 ml/l filter sterilized thiophene-2-carboxylate stock solution (12.8 g/l, pH 7.5)

Supply hexane via incubation atmmosphere

With 0.1 g/l diazinon (added as described in medium 457d)

With 1 g/l hexadecane

With 2,4- or 2,6-dichlorophenol via incubation atmosphere

With 2.5 mg/l yeast extract and 1,4-dichlorobenzene supplied via gas phase

With 40 ml/l of a filter sterilized thiophene-2-carboxylate stock solution (12,8 g/l, pH 7.5)

Without vitamins but supplied with 2 g/l isonicotinate before autoclaving
