# 1493: VERRUCOMICROBIA MEDIUM ## Main sol. 1493 0.5 g NaHCO3 0.5 g NaCl 0.4 g KH2PO4 0.2 g (NH4)2SO4 0.1 g MgSO4 x 6 H2O 0.01 g CaCl2 0.01 g Li2B4O7 1 ml **FeEDTA solution** 1 ml **Trace element solution** 1000 ml Distilled water 1. Do not adjust the pH. 2. For plates add 8g/l Gelrite or 15g Phytagel and 1g/L MgCl. A carbon source is not required because the organism degrades the polysaccharides in Gelrite or Phytagel 3. For liquid medium use 0.8-2.0g/l Gelrite as carbon source (the medium remains liquid). Alternatively mannose (1g/l) may be used instead of Gelrite in liquid medium. Do not add mannose to solid media, which will inhibit growth. ## FeEDTA solution 1.54 g FeSO4 x 7 H2O 2.06 g Na-EDTA 1000 ml Distilled water ## Trace element solution 1.5 g Nitrilotriacetic acid 0.2 g Fe(NH4)2(SO4)2 x 6 H2O 0.44 g Na2SeO4 x 10 H2O 0.18 g CoCl2 x 6 H2O 0.12 g MnSO4 x H2O 0.16 g Na2MoO4 0.1 g Na2WO4 0.54 g ZnSO4 x 7 H2O 0.04 g AlCl3 0.025 g NiCl2 x 6 H2O 0.11 g H3BO3 0.21 g CuSO4 0.19 g MnCl2 1000 ml Distilled water 1. First dissolve nitrilotriacetic acid and adjust pH to 6.5 with KOH, then add minerals. 2. Final pH 7.0 (with KOH).
