1	ml	**Modified Wolin's mineral solution**	
0.1	g	Yeast extract	
0.33	g	CaCl2 x 2 H2O	
1.5	g	Na2CO3	
2	g	D-Glucose	
1	ml	**Wolin's vitamin solution (10x)**	
0.3	g	Na2S x 9 H2O	
1000	ml	Distilled water	

1. Dissolve ingredients (except calcium chloride, bicarbonate, glucose, vitamins and sulfide), then sparge medium with 80% N2 and 20% CO2 gas mixture for 30 - 45 min to make it anoxic. Dispense medium under same gas atmosphere into anoxic Hungate-type tubes or serum vials and autoclave. After autoclaving add calcium chloride, glucose, vitamins and sulfide from sterile anoxic stock solutions prepared under 100% N2 gas and bicarbonate from a sterile stock solution prepared under 80% N2 and 20% CO2 gas mixture. The vitamin solution should be sterilized by filtration. Adjust pH of the complete medium to 7.4, if necessary.

1. First dissolve nitrilotriacetic acid and adjust pH to 6.5 with KOH, then add minerals. Adjust final to pH 7.0 with KOH.
