12.5	ml	Phenol red (saturated aq. solution)	
10	ml	**Trace element solution**	
5	g	Na2S2O3 x 5 H2O	
15	g	Agar, for solid medium (optional)	
1000	ml	Distilled water	

1. Dissolve ingredients except thiosulfate and adjust pH of medium to 7.3 - 7.5. Add thiosulfate to the medium after autoclaving from a sterile stock solution sterilized by filtration. For liquid medium also sterilize the phosphates separately in 1/10 of medium volume.

1. Dissolve EDTA in distilled water and adjust pH to 7.0 using 2 N NaOH; then add other compounds. Adjust pH of final solution to 6.0 with NaOH.
