1. Mix components thoroughly and distribute the medium into culture vessels (e.g., 10 ml medium in Balch-type tubes) under a N2-CO2 (4:1, v/v) gas mixture, seal with butyl rubber stoppers and autoclave. After cooling, aseptically and anaerobically add per liter the following solutions: 

60	ml	NaHCO3 (filter-sterilized, 8%)	
5	ml	Na2S x 9 H2O (autoclaved, 5%)
