# J19: BIFIDOBACTERIUM MEDIUM ## Main sol. J19 10 g Casein peptone, tryptic digest 5 g Beef extract (BD-Difco) 5 g Yeast extract (BD-Difco) 10 g Glucose 3 g K2HPO4 1 ml Tween 80 1000 ml Distilled water 1. Adjust pH to 6.8. 2. After sterilization, aseptically add solutions of sodium ascorbate and L-cysteine x HCl to final concentration of 1.0% and 0.05%, respectively. Heat medium not freshly prepared in a steamer for 10 min before addition of the reducing substances.
