1. Mix components thoroughly, distribute the medium into culture vessels (e.g., 4.5 ml of the medium in the Hungate tubes) under a N2-CO2 (4:1, v/v) gas mixture, seal with butyl rubber stoppers and autoclave. After cooling, add the following solutions (per 900 ml medium) from anaerobic stocks (autoclaved or *filter-sterilized): 

20	ml	Na2HPO4 (5%)	
40	ml	KH2PO4 (25%)	
20	ml	Fructose (1 M)	
20	ml	Trace vitamins (see Medium No. 197) (*)	
8	ml	Na2S x 9 H2O (5%)	

2. Check final pH of the medium to be around 5.8.
